Mindset to Leadership is a way of being, not simply a leadership strategy to facilitate influence over the "Human Resources".
Many who reach high ranking positions are there because of their ability to produce and perform according to the accepted standards. There is nothing wrong with being great at your craft and being compensated for productivity, but it becomes a hinderance for the business when that performer becomes unavailable. For some, being such a valued commodity is enough and are satisfied with reaching job security. For them, staking their performance flag is enough to satisfy their life purpose, and that’s fair for we all have free will. however, it's not enough for the growth and expansion of the business and for the growth of the subordinate team members.
So what's the prescribed solution of the leadership 'experts' and educators? Of course!! Let's recruit effective leaders, study their strategies and create courses that would teach positional level 1 leaders to adopt such strategies so they could also be effective leaders! Voila, Brilliant idea!!
Unfortunately, people do not react favorably to such superficial hypocrisy. The idea of Leadership mindset seems sane and logical, but for those with keen intuition see it for what it truly is, an imposter syndrome, and those without heightened intuition feel it without understanding it.
Why?
Because the 'leadership mindset' strategy goal is to teach managers in leadership positions to adopt 'strategies' that naturally gifted leaders use to develop and grow their team. Reality rears its ugly face when the imposter simply gets exhausted from acting in ways they truly are not. This usually happens in situations when the imposter feels it's safe to lower their guard, usually with their direct subordinates, and reveals their true identity. Consequently, the direct subordinates share the true face of the imposter, via their own beliefs about leadership that seems to be shared and accepted by the imposter leader in private. So unintentionally the imposter leader's true identity is relayed throughout the corporate pyramid, by their subordinate untrained trusted peers. This causes the lack of effective leadership to spread throughout the business rendering the fakery useless, proving the 'leadership mindset' strategy ineffective, with the final nail in the coffin being the horrendous leadership statistics.
Why does the effective leadership task seem like such a tall order? Are humans just too complex to understand to a point of resigning to a belief that no solution is possible? What's missing?
Mindset to Leadership is missing. After many challenges and a lifetime of self-analysis, I have discovered that there is no shortcut to effective leadership, although the solution is very simple. All of these complex leadership mindset theories and processes are a form of avoiding the difficult task of developing as a person and ultimately as a leader. Managers are trained to be actors, instead of truly developing their mindset to that of natural leaders, who've done the personal development and overcome their emotional trials and tribulations. Too many talented producers are enticed into leadership positions with the bribery of more financial compensation and the fakery is no longer proving effective. Leadership intuition, required to understand and connect with others is earned through mindset development, not through didactic teachings, nor memorized strategies. Connecting and understanding others is developed through emotional training that triggers the subconscious mind and initiates mindset growth. That is true Mindset to Leadership development.
DEVELOPMENT MUST BE EARNED, NOT LEARNED
Why is Mindset to Leadership Simple but not easy? Because mental growth begins with discomfort and the growth must be developed experientially. A mindset MUST BE EXPERIENCED. Corporate world is addicted to easy fixes and their stubbornness to accept reality is backfiring with the "Great resignation" and "Demand for Purpose and Meaning" movements. Many corporate executives base their decisions on the numbers and like to consider themselves pragmatic, but even their pragmatic thinking can not make sense of the statistics that are not supporting their own leadership beliefs. It's time to accept the fact that the 'soft skill' is the most productive skill, and is their greatest weakness and reason for such horrendous leadership results. Mindset urgently needs to be understood and developed so managers can comprehend what it means to be an effective leader and also develop the skills to take lead on the development of their own team. Developing the proper mindset is the missing key to connecting on an emotional and subconscious level with staff and colleagues, not to mention the solution to the Purpose and Meaning requests of the Millennials. It's this effective leadership that allows the leader to understand and connect with their team members who may be going through the exact challenges they faced on their way to mindset growth. I will be careful in clustering all managers in the same pot, for some managers have actually developed the mindset, but their challenge is understanding the mechanics of their mindset development journey so they could comprehend how to connect with their team. The latter managers are closer to effective leadership than the former.
So in summary, the definition of Mindset to Leadership is the experiential mindset development of ANY individual willing to overcome, any and all, emotional and mindset challenges to trigger breakthrough mindset growth enabling them the ability to share and connect, on an emotional basis, with their team as they also encounter similar experiences on their developmental growth.
The Mindset to Leadership theory, if applied effectively, can transform any individual into effective leaders. The only remaining void would be education and information, and in this information age, information is cheap, proving that the most valuable skill is that of "Mindset to Leadership".
